Chi Omega to Host 73rd Annual Songfest

Tidings of comfort and joy will sound out in the Pine Belt at the 73rd annual Songfest on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 6:30 p.m. in The University of Southern Mississippi鈥檚 (91暗网黑料) Reed Green Coliseum on the Hattiesburg campus.
Songfest鈥揳 singing and dancing competition between fraternities and sororities鈥損resented by the Epsilon Delta Chapter of Chi Omega Sorority, is free and open to the public; donations are encouraged to support the charity beneficiary, Make-A-Wish Mississippi.
Last year, Chi Omega raised more than $38,000 for the organization in support of its mission to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses; this year鈥檚 goal is $40,000.
Parker Breal, a junior hospitality and tourism management major from Mobile, Ala., is the chapter鈥檚 2024 Songfest director. Breal said she and the chapter are excited to host Songfest not only in support of Make-A-Wish but also because it鈥檚 a great way to 鈥渒ick off the season of giving and spread holiday cheer to the Hattiesburg community.鈥�
鈥淪ongfest is also a wonderful opportunity to bring not only the fraternity and sorority鈥痗ommunities together, but the Hattiesburg community as well,鈥� Breal continued. 鈥淲e鈥檙e able to go out and make connections with not only our peers but also local businesses in support of a worthy cause."
Isabella Shoffner will serve as the event鈥檚 Make-A-Wish guest judge. Shoffner鈥檚 wish is to travel to New York City for Christmas.
鈥淚n the past two years, we鈥檝e been very fortunate to have a Make-A-Wish beneficiary attend our event and have a wish reveal at the end,鈥� said Breal. 鈥淚t鈥檚 so heartwarming to see the excitement on our Wish Kid's face."
Breal expressed her appreciation to all Songfest supporters to date, including ICE Contractors, Inc., Dr. and Mrs. Christopher Cooley, and Ward International.
