Bio

D.M. Aderibigbe is from Lagos, Nigeria. His debut book of poems, How the End First Showed (University of Wisconsin Press, 2018), won the Brittingham Prize in Poetry, selected by Aimee Nezhukumatathil, and a Florida Book Award. The book was also a finalist for a string of other awards, including the Glenna Luschei Prize for African Poets. He's the recipient of a 2024 PEN America Writers Grant and a 2022–2023 Individual Artist Fellowship from the Mississippi Arts Commission. He has also received fellowships and scholarships from the Sewanee Writers' Conference (Walter E. Dakin Fellowship), The James Merrill House, The Provincetown Fine Arts Work Center, Art Omi/Ledig House, Ucross Foundation, Jentel Foundation, and Boston University. His poems have appeared in The Atlantic, The Nation, Ploughshares, The Southern Review, and New England Review, among others.
